Christian Dai Ling’en Sentenced to 10 Years by the CCP for His Belief in Almighty God

Dai Ling’en, male, born in 1987, of Zhumadian City in Henan Province, is a Christian of The Church of Almighty God (CAG). In July of 2019, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for his belief in Almighty God and was deprived of political rights for 2 years.

On July 2, 2017, Dai Ling’en was arrested by the CCP police in Shangcheng District of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. On the next day, he was criminally detained in Hangzhou Detention Center on suspicion of using a xie jiao organization to undermine the enforcement of the law.

According to sources, Dai Ling’en had been under the police’s secret surveillance and follow for as long as six months and his daily whereabouts were secretly recorded by the police.

On July 2, 2019, held as a major leader of the Church in Zhejiang Province, Dai Ling’en was charged with using a xie jiao organization to undermine the enforcement of the law and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with a fine of 50,000 RMB (about 7,158 USD) and deprivation of political rights for 2 years by Jianggan District People’s Court in Hangzhou, under provisions like Paragraph 1 of Article 300 of the Chinese Criminal Law.

Dai Ling’en made an appeal by July 6 of the same year; however, Hangzhou Intermediate People’s Court rejected the appeal and confirmed the sentence, after which he was escorted to a jail in Zhejiang Province to serve the sentence.
