“Red Wednesday” in Multiple Cities of Austria: Standing with Persecuted Christians Worldwide
On November 20, 2024, marked as “Red Wednesday,” hundreds of iconic cathedrals, churches, monasteries, monuments, and prominent public buildings around the world were illuminated in crimson red to show solidarity with persecuted Christians globally. This event, initiated by the international Catholic relief organization Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) in 2015, has since gained widespread participation from many countries.

In Steyr, Austria, at 5:00 PM local time, Christians from various Catholic and Protestant denominations held a silent march. The procession began at the town hall, passed by the Waldensian Monument, and concluded at the Steyr Parish Church. Participants expressed their sentiments through speeches, music, and prayers, lighting red candles in honor of all persecuted Christians worldwide.
