Sun Lianhu, male, born on January 25, 1967 and his wife Zhang Yuchun, born on September 14, 1966, both of Chiping County in Liaocheng City, Shandong Province, are Christians belonging to The Church of Almighty God. Sun Lianhu and his wife are very kind people and are well thought of by their neighbors.

In 2013, Sun Lianhu and his wife were reported to the police by some malicious person for their belief in God, and this report was added to their criminal record in the Chiping County Public Security Bureau.

In June of 2014, when the CCP once again launched a country-wide suppression of The Church of Almighty God, Sun Lianhu and his wife were primary targets for arrest. At around 10 a.m. on June 4, three policemen from Chiping County Public Security Bureau as well as the Boping Town Police Station charged into the Sun’s home and seized several faith-related books and pamphlets used for spreading the gospel. Luckily, Sun and his wife were not home at the time of the break-in and were thus able to avoid arrest. After this incident, they were forced to flee from their home in order to elude being apprehended by the CCP.

On July 30 of the same year, three officers went once again to the Sun’s family home, but when they arrived, they found the front door was locked shut. They then proceeded to search Sun’s parents’ house, but Sun and his wife were not there either. As they left, the police deliberately misled Sun Lianhu’s mother, saying, “Your son and daughter-in-law have violated the national childbearing policy by having a second child. When your son returns, make sure to have him come to the police station.”

In the spring of 2016, the CCP police made another phone call to the village Party secretary, inquiring about the whereabouts of Sun and his wife.

On August 29, 2018, three policemen from the local station visited Sun’s parents once again and interrogated them with regard to the whereabouts of their son and daughter-in-law. When the interrogation failed to yield any new details, the police asked for Sun’s father’s phone number and then left.

In November of the same year, Sun Lianhu and his wife’s medical insurance was cancelled because of their belief in Almighty God. An informed source revealed that the local public security bureau had already put out a warrant for their arrest at that time.

Because they were constantly being hunted by the CCP during their time in exile, the Sun’s had no home to call their own, they couldn’t make phone contact with their son, much less could they return home to look after their elderly and ailing parents. This caused them profound suffering.

On August 20, 2019, the Chiping County Public Security Bureau publicly announced online that they had put out a 4,000 RMB reward for information leading to the arrest of Sun Lianhu and his wife to encourage and incite people to report to the police about their whereabouts. To this day, Sun and his wife are unable to return home.
