On the afternoon of December 13, 2012, Ran Juhua (female, 48), a Christian in Longyang District, Baoshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province, was reported to police when preaching the gospel and was then taken to the local police station by the police and government officials.
Failing to gain any result through interrogation, the police slandered her as a “member of cult” and detained her for 10 days on the charge of “disturbing the social order.” From the sixth day of detention, the guards started to torture her by not offering her food. She survived by praying to Almighty God and was not released until December 23.
