Christians Observe Day of Prayer, Fasting for North Korea’s Freedom

Defense Forum Foundation, Free North Korea Radio, and other partners of International Christian Concern’s (ICC) organized the event.

“ICC supports Christians inside North Korea through prayer, fasting, and practical help,” an ICC staffer said. “With North Korea regularly deemed the worst persecutor of Christians globally, this event is a wonderful opportunity for the Body of Christ to unite to stand in the gap for persecuted Christians inside North Korea.”

The date of April 28 was chosen for the event because the first North Korea Freedom Day occurred April 28, 2004, on Capitol Hill, in Washington, D.C.

“We believe that a day of prayer and fasting to Almighty God by multitudes of people globally is the most important strategic weapon we can apply in the face of the horrible suffering we see impacting the people of North Korea, the most persecuted people on Earth,” event organizers said. “We see the seemingly never-ending threats to peace on the Korean peninsula from Kim Jong Un, but we know: ‘What is impossible with man is possible with God (Luke 18:27).’ The Bible says, ‘For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12).’”

The online event included prayers from various Christian leaders and testimonies and prayers from North Korean pastors who have defected.
