8 Christians in Xinjiang Sentenced to 7-12 Years for Their Belief in Almighty God

Xiang Caihua, female, born in 1973, is a resident of Wusu City in Xinjiang.
Cui Jing, female, born in 1979, is a resident of Kuytun City in Xinjiang.
He Chun, female, born in 1970, is a resident of Kuytun City in Xinjiang.
Li Ping, female, born in 1957, is a resident of Karamay City in Xinjiang.
Gui Chengxia, female, born in 1962, is a resident of Kuytun City in Xinjiang.
Dong Chunhua, female, born in 1963, is a resident of Karamay City in Xinjiang.
Liu Xuemei, female, born in 1974, is a resident of Kuytun City in Xinjiang.
Wang Yuling, female, born in 1974, is a resident of Karamay City in Xinjiang.

The above eight are Christians from The Church of Almighty God (CAG), who were sentenced to 7-12 years imprisonment by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for their belief in God on September 10, 2019.

In July 2018, Xiang Caihua and seven other CAG Christians were arrested by police officers with Kuytun City Public Security Bureau in Xinjiang. They were criminally detained on suspicion of organizing and using a xie jiao organization to undermine the enforcement of the law and held in Kuytun Detention Center.

On June 25, 2019, the Kuytun Procuratorate charged eight Christians with organizing and using a xie jiao organization to undermine the enforcement of the law at the court, holding that Xiang Caihua, Cui Jing, He Chun, Li Ping, Gui Chengxia and Dong Chunhua once acted as major CAG leaders in charge of the work of local churches in Kuytun area, and that Liu Xuemei and Wang Yuling were responsible for proofreading the testimony articles written by CAG Christians with some released on CAG’s official website.

On September 10, 2019, under provisions like Paragraph 1 of Article 300 of the Chinese Criminal Law and on charge of organizing and using a xie jiao organization to undermine the enforcement of the law, the Kuytun Court in Xinjiang sentenced Xiang Caihua and Cui Jing to 12 years imprisonment with a fine of 50,000 RMB (about 7,158 USD); He Chun, Li Ping, and Gui Chengxia to 11 years imprisonment with a fine of 50,000 RMB (about 7,158 USD); Dong Chunhua to 10 years imprisonment with a fine of 50,000 RMB (about 7,158 USD); Liu Xuemei and Wang Yuling to 7 years imprisonment with a fine of 40,000 RMB (about 5,736 USD).

As of now, Xiang Caihua and seven other Christians are still held in custody, serving their sentences at unknown places.
