As the CCP celebrated its so-called National Day, thunderous slogans of “Great Rejuvenation” filled the air. Yet behind the noise were countless lives — silenced, and killed under its rule. In Amsterdam, voices of protest rose above the fireworks of celebration, proclaiming their message across Dam Square: “No National Day, only National Mourning.”
On September 28, 2025, the day was etched into the memory of the Netherlands. Around 2 p.m. local time, more than a hundred people gathered in front of the National Monument at Amsterdam’s Dam Square — including democracy activists, human rights advocates, and Christians. They were not there to celebrate, but to hold up signs, shout slogans, and mourn — to remember the tens of millions of lives lost under the CCP’s tyranny.
