ADHRRF – The activity in support of women’s rights organized by Women’s March Global started again this year. Its supporters held this activity in different ways around the world. On January 21, thousands of Australian women gathered together and called for women’s rights in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, etc.

The event participants gathered in Melbourne’s Alexandra Gardens at 10:30 am. And at around eleven o’clock, about 500 male and female supporters held a giant ribbon inscribed with a variety of slogans and formed a giant human chain on the bank of the Yarra River in a display of solidarity. They marched along the Princess Bridge and called for gender equality both in home and workplace for women with disabilities, women of color, women with children, older women, and women marginalised for various other reasons. Their slogans are “Inequality has got to go” and “Time’s up”.

Women’s March Melbourne calls for an end to the harassment, discrimination, violence and persecution of women. The support and solidarity conveyed through this activity helped women shed their fear and strengthened the call for reform and safety of women.
