Battered and Bruised:

Why torture continues to stand at the heart of China’s judicial system (2018). This report is based on research conducted by a group of Chinese lawyers with experience trying to protect their clients from torture and to secure the disqualification of confessions procured through torture. Battered and Bruised documents commonly practiced torture methods and why the country’s legal system continues to fail to prevent its use.
